Glia is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Communications to lead the communication strategy and efforts. This role will be responsible for working across the marketing organization to bring our message to market and develop Glia’s prominence in a new category. This role will lead the design and execution of communication initiatives that enhance the company's brand visibility, reputation, and market positioning.


  • Develop and Implement Communication Strategy:
    • Play a key role in developing the integrated marketing plan, working in partnership with demand gen, events, content, and brand. 
    • Create and execute a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
    • Drive messaging consistency across various channels, ensuring a strong and unified brand voice.
  • Media Relations:
    • Manage relationships with PR agencies, provide guidance and feedback, and strategic plans to hold them accountable. 
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
    • Develop press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to secure positive coverage.
  • Executive Communication:
    • Work closely with company executives to develop and refine key messages for public communication.
    • Provide media training and coaching to executives for interviews and public appearances.
  • Content Creation:
    • Work with the content team to develop messaging and content strategy that is aligned with the overall communication strategy and resonates with target audiences.
    • Participate in brand development and corporate messaging development alongside our marketing leadership team. 
  • Social Media Management:
    • Develop and execute social media strategies to enhance the company's online presence.
    • Monitor social media channels and engage with the audience to maintain a positive brand image.
  • Crisis Communication:
    • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address potential issues swiftly and effectively.
    • Prep executives and executive communications in times of crisis. 
  • Measurement and Analytics:
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for communication efforts and regularly assess the effectiveness of campaigns.
    • Utilize analytics tools to measure and report on the impact of communication initiatives.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior communications role, preferably within the SaaS or technology industry.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate business objectives into effective communication plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in media relations and securing positive coverage.
  • Crisis communication experience and the ability to handle sensitive situations with composure.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, competitors, and the ability to adapt strategies accordingly.
