Glia Honored by Goldman Sachs for Entrepreneurship

Dan Michaeli, CEO and Co-Founder, Among 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs at 2021 Builders + Innovators Summit

NEW YORK – Oct. 22, 2021 – Glia, a leading provider of Digital Customer Service, today announced that Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) recognized Dan Michaeli, Glia’s CEO and co-founder, as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2021 at its Builders + Innovators Summit in Healdsburg, California.

Goldman Sachs selected Michaeli as one of 100 entrepreneurs from multiple industries honored at the two-day event.

In 2012, Michaeli launched Glia, formerly SaleMove, with co-founders Justin DiPietro and Carlos Paniagua, to help companies reinvent how they serve customers in a digital world. With Glia’s Digital Customer Service platform, companies around the globe are able to meet customers where they are and communicate with them through whichever methods they prefer, including messaging, video banking and voice, and guide them via CoBrowsing.

Within the past 18 months, Glia has experienced significant momentum; earlier this year, the company raised $78 million in Series C funding, bringing their total fundraising to $107 million, to meet the rising demand for Digital Customer Service. Today, the company is helping more than 200 banks, credit unions and insurance companies transition from a phone-first to a digital-first approach to customer service, boosting efficiencies and enhancing the customer and employee experience alike.

In addition to his work with Glia, Michaeli also launched the book Digital Customer Service: Transforming Customer Experience for an On-Screen World, with Rick DeLisi, lead research analyst of Glia, in August. Through the firsthand experiences of companies that have already transformed to a Digital Customer Service (DCS) model, the book details how organizations can provide seamless and effortless interactions by creating experiences that occur entirely on a customer’s own screen, even in situations where it is preferable to speak to an agent.

"It’s an honor to be named as one of Goldman Sachs’ 100 most intriguing entrepreneurs of 2021 and to be recognized with other innovators whose creative visions, products and services are impacting the world," said Dan Michaeli, CEO and co-founder of Glia. “Digital Customer Service continues to gain great adoption from companies longing to enhance the customer experience, and I look forward to continuing to work with our team to help organizations provide five-star customer experiences, creating long-term customer loyalty.”

“Innovation doesn’t happen just anywhere; it thrives where there’s a wide range of thoughts and perspectives,” said David M. Solomon, Chairman & CEO of Goldman Sachs. “One of our great strengths is our ability to bring together people from different walks of life and to spark conversations today that will lead to breakthroughs tomorrow. The leaders we’ve chosen to highlight at our Builders + Innovators Summit are truly remarkable, and we are pleased to recognize Dan as one of this year’s most intriguing entrepreneurs.”

In addition to honoring 100 entrepreneurs, the summit consists of general sessions and clinics led by seasoned entrepreneurs, academics and business leaders as well as resident scholars.
